Pearl and the Beard‘s cello-driven, 3-part harmony goodness is irresistible. And we’re thrilled to announce we’ll soon be offering their tabs! To be the first to know when, kindly follow us on Twitter or become our Facebook friend…
Here’s one of our favorite classic PatB songs, from their album God Bless Your Weary Soul, Amanda Richardson [iTunes]:
We’ve just launched our Abatab Holiday Sale, and to make it extra special we’re introducing Bess Rogers’ new tabs, priced right for the holidays. Plus, purchase her songbook and we’ll send you a special acoustic mp3 of her new song “Anchor”. Happy Holidays!
Abatab artists are among a group of New York City musicians helping upstate New York residents recover from the devastation of Hurricane Irene. Allie Moss, Bess Rogers and Ari Hest have each contributed a song to “After the Flood”, a 43-song download, proceeds of which go to hurricane victims, many of whom have lost their homes and livelihoods. [Photos] The download is available exclusively from bandcamp at aftertheflood.bandcamp.com.
If you purchase the download, we’ll send you free tabs for the three songs donated to the compilation by the above artists. Just forward your bandcamp receipt to jeff [at] abatab.com. $5,000 has been raised in the first 72 hours; kudos to NYC artist Martin Rivas for coordinating the project. (Check out his free tab/mp3 on our Free page.)
We’re thrilled to announce that we now offer individual tabs and a complete songbook for William Fitzsimmons’ 2011 album, Gold in the Shadow. You’ll find them all at abatab.com/williamfitzsimmons. One of our favorites from the album:
We’ve just added tabs for the great indie trio, The Spring Standards. We love their vocal harmonies, great songs and cool guitar parts, and you’ll find brand-new tabs on their Abatab page. We couldn’t be happier to have them aboard! Here’s one of our favorite songs:
Spring has sprung here in New York City! And we’d like you to know how excited we are to now offer official Lelia Broussard guitar tabs, which you’ll find posted on her page. As a side note, right now Lelia is among the top 4 artists vying for the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. Sweet. We’re voting and hope you will, too!
And just today we added The Spring Standards to our roster. We’re loving their EP “No One Will Know” (iTunes) and will be posting tabs in a month or so. Stay tuned at Facebook and Twitter.
We’re working hard to build Abatab’s roster with the best indie artists around; thanks for joining us for the ride! Now it’s time to head out for some sun…
The folks at Scrub Radio are dedicated to giving exposure to indie artists, which is right up our alley. And we’d like to give special thanks to Poppa Chubby for promoting Abatab on his shows this week. Tune in to hear him at the following times (all EST):
The Morning Show with Poppa Chubby – Mon-Fri, 7-8am
The Dragon’s Den – Every Mon, 5-8pm; Every Wed, 1-3pm
To help spotlight up and coming indie artists we love, we’re reserving a page on our site for a monthly Abatab Artist Residency. For March, we’re proud to have Pearl and the Beard, a fun and fearless trio from New York City. On their residency page, you’ll find a free tab download, along with a free mp3 courtesy of our friends at Family Records. Also, you can watch the band performing underground in the NYC subway via a video shot by the talented folks at Subway Sessions. Next month, we’ll be spotlighting a new album by Jessi Robertson – free tab and mp3. Stay tuned! And as always, we keep all our past free tabs/mp3s on our ‘Free’ page.
It has taken longer than we thought for us to be able to post Wakey!Wakey! tabs (piano/guitar). Please know we’re moving as fast as we can! If you’d like to be notified as soon as they’re posted, please join our mailing list or follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you for your patience!
